Does RadMilk accept insurance?

We are out of network with insurance, and will provide a superbill for mom or baby with all the necessary documentation to request reimbursement from your insurance company.  If a superbill is provided for your baby, a pediatrician prescription for OT helps increase the likelihood that insurance will reimburse some or all of the cost of these sessions. RadMilk, LLC offers a complimentary OT prescription form. We can fax this on behalf of our clients upon request or you can bring it to your next pediatrician appointment.    In addition to above, For Lactation visits only (and for up to 90 minutes), Rachel also partners with The Lactation Network. They participate with some insurances, handle the paperwork, and bill your insurance directly. To schedule an appointment with Rachel through The Lactation Network, complete the form here. The Lactation Network will promptly notify you and Rachel by email regarding approval. If approved, no payment will be required and Rachel will send you an email to schedule your visit.

What platform does RadMilk use for virtual lactation visits?

I have a HIPPA compliant Zoom for Healthcare account.  You will receive a link in your confirmation email. You can use your 
smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.  Whatever you choose, I recommend setting it up to keep your hands free.

How should I prepare for my visit?

1.  Get comfortable!  I want to see how and where you normally feed your baby and what's working or not working so I can make productive suggestions for improvment. 2.  Try not to feed your baby at least 1 hour before our visit.  But of course, if your baby is "hangry," go ahead and feed her.  We will make it work! 3.  For virtual visits, make sure the lighting is good wherever you plan to be for our visit, so that I can see everything that is going on.  It works best to have ample lighting in front of you.  You may also want to have a flashlight handy, in case I need to examine your baby's mouth. 4.  Write down some questions ahead of time, so we make sure to address everything that is on your mind.   5.  Have any bottles or pump parts nearby for virtual visits if you would like to address those during our visit.  6.  For home visits, please secure animals in a different room.  I love animals and am not allergic, but they can get territorial and protective when there is a new baby at home. 7.  Relax!  This is a judgement-free visit. :)

What happens after the visit?

I will send you a care plan with follow-up information that we discussed during our visit.  I may also send a summary note to your baby's pediatrician and/or your doctor  One follow up phone call is included to offer support for any additional questions you may have.    For additional follow-up care, you can book a follow-up visit at any time.
